Shu Uemura Debut (mini haul)

Hi Ladies,

This is my last instalment of my haulage.
All courtesy of my beloved

However, I just received an order from MAC and I still have a Space NK voucher so
watch this space for more products. Naughty me!

Shu Uemura always intrigued my but it kind of intimidated me in a strange way.
I always popped into their store in Covent Garden and I think because it's so small and you get asked straight away if you need help and then you get a sales pitch it kind of put me off.
I would swatch a few products that I would happily purchase but the prices would alarm me and I would just go away empty handed thinking that it's not probably worth it and that I'm sure I will find a dupe.

So, when my beloved had a nice and generous gesture which included me going a bit crazy on the credit card I knew I would visit Shu Uemura!

This time I went to Selfridges and the girls there were so nice!
I told them that I was new to the brand and that I wanted to try their product so I asked for their recommendations taking into account my experience with make up and my preferences.

What did I get?

1-Bowwow! Magic Queen Palette.
(I think this is what it's called)
The lady introduced me to this palette and said that it was a very good way of testing Shu Uemura's products because you get: 3 eyeshadows (the 3 golds on the left), one gel liner(a dark green), a cream eyeshadow (a gold) and a blush (dolly pink with some gold sparks).
It was on sale from £39 to £26 so bingo! She convinced me.

This is what the palette looks like:
And it comes with a super soft and handy double ended brush.
The blending brush is actually quite big and fits in my socket nicely.

I'm afraid I still haven't actually touched the palette.
Not because I don't like it. Quite the opposite..I love it! I think it looks beautiful and I constantly think of looks I could do with it. The thing is because I bought so much recently I want to hang on to some of the things and try them a bit later. I'm sure you know what I mean. I always like to have that feeling of having something new in my drawer and I don't want that feeling to go away just yet.
I'm still trying, testing and playing with all the other stuff that I bought (see my previous posts) but I will update you with some swatches as soon as I start using it.

2-Painting Liner in Purple
I couldn't resist this one!
I wanted an alternative for my Inglot gel liner as it's now kind of dead and very sticky (see photo below)*. In my mind when I saw the Shu Uemura one I thought it was the same exact colour as my Inglot one but I was totally wrong. The Shu Uemura is more on the pink side with some gorgeous tiny sparkles.
I love it anyway and it complements my eyes as the Inglot one does.

I have to say that the Shu Uemura gel liner is something else!
Honestly, I've never had a gel liner like this one. It's super soft and easy to apply.
It works on the lid as on the waterline and it does not move! At all.
The closest I have to this one is a Bobbi Brown one and I think the Shu Uemura one is better.
Wayyyy better!
It's much softer and long lasting.
The only bad point..the price tag! It's about £20.

I used these two gel liners together in my New Year's Eve look.
I love the effect.

*Vesna (from Beauty Addict) came to my rescue and suggested Duraline from Inglot to revive my gel liner. As it's my favourite purple gel liner I might try that. I'll let you know.

Have you tried any of these products?
What would you recommend from Shu Uemura?
