Yep, they are the very controversial Solar Bits by Mac!
I remember I got them back in the day when I ventured to buy Mac make-up online for the first or second time. I remember they had very bad press but in my opinion they are not that bad.
They are just misunderstood.
The main problem is that they are hard to use and manipulate and they are kind of sticky.
I find they work particularly well when you use less product at a time and always tap rather than swipe. For the application I wet my e/s brush with a tiny drop of Liquiset by Ben Nye ( a waterproof mixing medium) and I work my brush with the pigment that's left on the cap. This way I get an amazing bling and colour pay off.
They were limited edition but a lot of people didn't like them so you might be able to get them at some CCOs or Ebay?
I'm holding tight to mine!
I did a (party?) look using them and this is what I came up with:
FYI: I'm using the Dermablend Corrective Foundation by Vichy here so have a look at how natural it looks! I'm not using any concealer whatsoever. I'm impressed.
The gold bit on my lid is soooo sparkly..shame you cannot see it here.
I used Impassioned on my crease and Scatterrays on my lid.
I had a bit of gold e/s under Scatterrays to help the colour pay off.
It's a gold with some pink undertone.
When I bought it I wanted to use it on my eyes and cheeks but that is not going to happen....it's packed with glitter so I only use it on my eyes.
It's is a rich taupe/mushroom colour with some pink undertone.
On the photo it looks like a normal taupe but in real life it has a kind of pink duo chrome.
It's a shame because in these photos you can only see I would say 50% of what you really get.
Willow wanted to say hello!!!
Cheeky monkey...she was getting comfy on my bed.
She's so pink! I call her my little piglet!
Did you love or hate the Solar Bits?
