This will be a photo tutorial for green smoky eyes.
I'm using a mixture of high-end and drugstore products.
Creating a smoky eye is only a technique and you can tone it down or up as you wish.
I am doing it using green today but you can use any colour that takes your fancy.
This will be my version of a smoky eye...there are millions of ways of achieving this look but I like doing it this way.
You don't have to use the exact products I'm using here...just use what you have.
I hope you enjoy it!
1-Apply a colour base
I'm using this Double Ware creme colour base by Estee Lauder.
The colour is Sage.
I'm using my fingers to apply it.
Apply only on the lid.
It should look like this.
You don't have to be very neat as we will be applying e/ss on top.
2-Apply the first e/s.
I am using this pigment (no name/number) by NYX and I am applying it with a wet small flat brush.
I'm using my home made mixing medium to wet the brush.
Apply only on the lid.
It should look something like this.
3-Apply the second e/s on the outer third of the lid.
I'm using this MUA e/s in shade number 7.
It's actually much lighter in real life. The flash is changing the colour a bit.
Apply it by patting and then blending.
It should look something like this:
4-Apply the first crease colour.
I'm using this gorgeous Emerald colour from Bourjois and I'm applying it with a pencil brush by Crown Brushes.
Apply it only on the crease and only on the outer part of the eye.
This is what the first application will look like.
From now one it's all about blending.
Apply and blend as many times as you need.
For a softer blending effect I'm using this brush from Crown Brushes.
5-Apply a bit of black e/s on the crease for extra dimension.
I'm using some bits that fell off from a black matte e/s I have and I'm using the same pencil brush.
Keep on applying and blending as needed.
6-Apply highlighter on the brow bone and on the tear duct area.
I chose Vanilla e/s by Mac and a no name/ no brand brush.
Apply and blend with the crease colour.
I think Vanilla looks a bit ashy on these photos but in real life it looked fine.
I guess it's the flash/camera paying up a bit again with the finishes of the e/s.
7-Tight line your eyes.
This will give you a more defined look and it will look prettier (in my opinion).
I like placing the eyeliner in between my top and bottom waterline I then close the eye and slide the pencil very softly. In this way I do top and bottom at the same time.
I'm using Benefir BadGal eyeliner.
And it should look like this.
Don't do it too neat because you will then blend it with some green e/s on the bottom lash line.
8-Mascara...and lots of it!
I'm using DiorShow Black Out by Dior.
I'm using my Maybelline Dream Creamy foundation and a duo fibre brush.
And now I'm a bit more presentable :-P
I'm using the Sleek Contour Kit in Medium and I'm using my new love:S205 Pointed Brush by Crown Brushes. To see it next to Mac 138 click here
Apply it right on the hollow of your cheeks and bring it down a bit.
Blend blend blend...we don't want to see any harsh lines.
I'm using this bright coral by NYX called Love.
I applied a tiny bit...not sure you can see it here.
4-Apply face highlighter.
I'm using my second new love..this massive highlighter by Gosh called Giant Sun Powder.
I'm using a small kabuki brush.
I apply it right on top of my cheeks.
And it should look like this
Can you see the amazing glow? I love it.
If this is too much for you, then apply less or leave this step out.
I'm using this coral lip stain by ScreenFace.
And we're done!
I hope you liked it.
