Hair Bow with your own hair: How to-Step by Step

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all ok and enjoying the heat...while it lasts
Apparently it will rain in the next few days :-(

Today I'm going to show you how to achieve the
Lady Gaga Hair Bow with your own hair:

I'm pretty sure she's using a fake bow here as she would need to have very thick hair to pull this off and have her hair as usual.

Let's see...

For long hair:

First step:
grab all your hair and make a ponytail at the very top of your head and to one side. Try and match the elastic hair band to your hair colour so you can disguise it even better:

Second step:
Make the ponytail as usual but on the last loop only get just a little bit of hair through the elastic hair band. This will make one side of the bow. It makes sense (hopefully) when you see the photo. Leave the leftover hair on the other side as this will make the other side of the bow. See:

Third step:
Now we need to make the other side of the bow. You should have enough felxibility on your elastic hair band for at least one more loop. Grab the elastic hair band, twist it and pass the rest of the hair through it but not all of it. Just as you did with the previous side. You should have the other side of the bow and some more hair to cover the middle bit:

Forth step:
Now we need to tidy up. Grab the bit that you have at the back (the very end of your hair) and bring it to the front. You could do it the other way. End with the end of your hair at the front and then bring it backwards covering the middle bit. Pin as necessary.

Fifth step:
Tidy up! Use hair grips (or bobby pins) and spray to help you achieve the perfect bow.
I know I didn't end up with a "perfect" one. I was just playing around at home and I had dinner in the oven :-P
If I was going out I would make sure no hair is sticking out and no hair grips are visible.

After taking this photo above I realised there was a visible hair grip.
Try and get it to look perfect without any visible pins.

And we are done!!! How easy was that!?

For shorter hair:
Do exactly the same but use you shorter layers. You will get a smaller bow instead and the rest of your hair as usual at the back. You could opt and have the bow and a ponytail.

Some more photos :-)

I hope you liked it and that you found this post useful.

Take care

See you soon
