Dream Creamy Foundation by Maybelline: Review & Before and after photos

Hi everyone,

I hope you had a nice weekend.

I wanted to share with you a new drugstore foundation I discovered recently and that I'm totally loving.

It's the one and only: Dream Creamy Foundation by Maybelline.

This is what it looks like (top):

It comes with a handy latex sponge (but I use something else)

This is what the actual foundation looks like:

I find the MAC 187 to be the perfect match for this foundation. More on that later.

Let's start with my review:

Not a good start with this one: I find Maybelline is trying to confuse us.
This same foundation was released in the US under the name: Dream Smooth Mousse.

I don't understand why they did that knowing that a lot of people from the beauty community will know about the release of certain products (local and international ones) and after realising they are not available locally (or they think they are not) they will by them abroad. I can almost guarantee that these two are the same product but with a different label. Don't know, maybe when they had the focus groups to discuss the names for the UK/Europe they realised that we don't like mouses and instead we like foundations? and that instead of a Smooth finish we like a Creamy one? What a load of nonsense!

I bought mine at Boots and it was so funny because mine was the darkest colour! It's 48-Sun Beige. I feel really sorry for all of you girls with darker skin tone but it seems darker people were not taken into account for the UK release? The colour selection went from a very pale Ivory to a rose pink to a more olive one (me).
However, don't panic..in the US there are more colours: from Porcelain Ivory to Caramel.

As the name rightly indicates it's a creamy foundation. I found that the MAC 187 is the perfect match for application. I do not use the stippling method. I just swirl the brush which picks up just the right amount and then buff it on my face. This brush is perfect to get to every single part of your face including the sides of your nose and under your eyes. It's super soft and will distribute the product evenly.
The finish of this foundation is what I love most. It give you a very natural glow that looks great during the day.

Well, this is another thing that really surprised me and made me love this product instantly.
The coverage is brilliant!!!!! It covers all my blemishes and does not look totally thick. Ok, this is not a very light one either...you can tell if you are close that I have foundation on but it's very very natural. Nearly flawless I would say.

I hate doing this but here it's necessary to illustrate what you can achieve with this foundation!

Before and after demonstration:

before 1 (no make up whatsoever!):
Hoorrroorrrrrr......Please don't run away :-P
After 1 (with the Dream Creamy Foundation):

Before 2:

After 2:

(Please do excuse my face..it's Monday)

I hope you managed to see the difference between before and after. Unfortunately, the camera did not pick up the gorgeous glow you get with it as well. I did not apply any concealer or corrector..in the "after" photos I only have the foundation and nothing else. So good!

Not so good thing about it:
The size! It's only 14g at £7.99..mmmmm!

I hope this mini review was helpful.

See you soon.
