Lipcote lipstick sealer- Review

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a good weekend.

I have been reading so much about Lipcote recently in fashion magazines.
I didn't know where to get it apart from their website but I was so exited when I found it by accident in my local Superdrug. I had to try it.

What it claims:
If your lipstick is more like lipslip, you need Lipcote. With its original, long-lasting formula, it'll keep your lips looking luscious and kissable all day.

What I say:
It's basically a top coat for your lips!

This is what it looks like in its packaging:

This is the bottle and the wand:

My experience and my thoughts:

Application: I did exactly what it says at the back. I applied a very think layer of lipstick and I blotted it with kitchen towel making sure it was dry. Then I applied Lipcote on the edges first and then all over the lip.

My first impressions were: it stinks of chemicals and then the wand is so small and thin that it gives me tickles on my lips. very uncomfortable.

Moving on: The instructions say not to close your mouth while it dries. Well, I did one minute and it was fine. You are not supposed to do thick coats. See back with more info photo. It actually dried really fast and you can definitely feel it working as you feel a little tingle.

Results: Yes it works! I had it for about 3-4 hours now and it all looks good! it doesn't budge and it doesn't transfer!!!!

Cons: It smells really bad, it can affect the formula/finish of the lipstick (I guess it takes any shine from any frosty or glossy lip stick. I will need to try it with different finishes and come back to you).

Pros: It definitely works! it comes in a generous tube and you only need a very little amount. Perfect for a very special evening, wedding or date. It's very cheap at £2.99!!!

I hope you liked this small review.

See you soon.

    Glad it worked for you!
It didn't work for me at all, it would just dull the colour of my bright lipstick and dissolve some of the colour, so only a little bit would be left :( xx

@Parisa: I think this product is a hit or miss for certain people. It did work with that particular lip stick: Hot Chilly by n17. It does change the texture of the lipstick completely but at least the colour was there. I will try it with other finishes and textures.I will keep testing it.
XXXX
